Save money on your heating and cooling bill with Government Rebates
At Ashton, we’re the go-to experts for furnace and air conditioning rebates for your townhouse, single-family home, apartment, or condo in Greater Vancouver and surrounding areas. We’ve put together this comprehensive guide to help you get started in upgrading your home’s heating and cooling system by taking advantage of Government and Fortis rebates!
Furnaces and Boilers
Replace your old natural gas furnace or boiler with an eligible ENERGY STAR® model and you could qualify for a rebate of up to $3,000. Plus, if you install an eligible connected thermostat, you could qualify for an additional $150 rebate.
The furnace must be replacing an existing natural gas heating system that’s a minimum of 10 years old. Note: Homes converting from oil or propane may be eligible for connect to gas rebates. Converting from electricity is not eligible.
Natural Gas Water Heater Rebate
Upgrade to a qualifying natural gas ENERGY STAR® water heater and you could get rebates from $200 to $1,000.
Before beginning work, make sure you qualify for this rebate by reviewing the Program Rebate Requirements, as outlined in the terms and conditions and the eligibility and rebate details below.
Fortis B.C Rebate $10,000 Rebate
Great news for our customers with gas furnace heating! Fortis B.C is offering this rebate for customers who want a higher-efficiency heating and cooling system that can replace their aging gas furnace, helping to reduce associated greenhouse gas emissions. That means if you currently have an aging gas furnace in your home, you can upgrade to a high efficiency furnace with a heat pump and get a $10,000 Fortis Rebate.
A/C & Heat Pump Rebates
What’s a Heat Pump?
A heat pump is capable of heating and cooling your home, like and all-in-one air conditioner and furnace. If you’re looking to add air conditioning to your home or thinking of replacing your old furnace, a heat pump will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter!
Federal 0% Interest-Free Loan
For a limited time, the Federal Government is offering a 0% interest-free, 10-year loan to install a heat pump in your home. There are four heat pump upgrade options available to you.
Option #1 Dual Fuel Ducted Heat Pump $8,000 Rebate
If your home currently has a gas furnace, you can replace it with a new furnace and a heat pump and take advantage of $8,000 in rebates. This type of heat pump can cool your home in the summer and heat your home in the winter.
When the temperature outside drops below 5 degrees, the natural gas furnace will take over the electric heat pump to heat your home.
Option #2 Central Ducted Heat Pump $11,000 – $17,000 Rebate
If your home currently has a gas furnace, you can also replace it with an air handler and a heat pump. This combination is called a Central Ducted Heat Pump. This system runs entirely on electricity with no gas.
The heat pump is used to cool your home during the summer months and also heat your home when it’s winter. The air handler blows the heat and cool air from the heat pump through the ducts in your home.
Option #3 Ductless Split Heat Pump $6,000-15,000 Rebate
If you have baseboards, radiant heating or a furnace, a ductless split system is for you. These systems are up to 3x more efficient than electric baseboards and do not require ducting to heat or cool your home. Ductless systems are small wall- and ceiling-mounted cassettes that blow warm or cool air and can be installed and controlled on a room-by-room basis. These systems are very popular in condos and apartments where ducting is not required and space is limited. Ductless split heat pump systems qualify for a $6,000 to $17,000 rebate.
Option #4 Air-To-Water Heat Pump $13,000 Rebate
If you currently have radiant heating (in-floor heating), using the existing piping in the floor is a great option to heat and cool your home. The air-to-water heat pump is used to transfer heat to the existing water pipes to heat your home. Cassettes can be added —like a ductless split system— that will provide heating and cooling with water instead of traditional gas refrigerant. Air-to-water heat pumps are eligible for $13,000 in rebates.
