About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Foreman; you will oversee all Jobsite activity from the start of the project until completion (18-24 months) at which point you will take over another large project. Ashton’s Mechanical division is experiencing unprecedented growth in the institutional and commercial sectors. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be a resourceful self-starter. The ideal candidate is results-driven and is looking to contribute to a team that is positive, forward-thinking and motivated by the success of everyone within the organization. This position is permanent, full-time and reports directly to our Superintendent, Mechanical Construction.

Required Skills
- Fluent in construction math and blueprint reading/interpretation
- Proficient knowledge of construction site processes
- Experienced in GANT chart /scheduling (Microsoft Project) an asset
- BC Building code conversant
- Seasoned interpersonal skills, including negotiation and the art of persuasion
- Ability to identify client needs to deliver on promises and to exceed expectations
- Problem-solving in a constructive and professional manner (no excuses)
- Time management: the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Cool temperament; maintain a courteous and professional attitude, even under pressure
- Proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget

Responsibilities
The Construction Foreman’s daily duties and responsibilities include:
- Act as a point of contact between field employees, supervisors and Project Managers
- Create labour schedules, assign tasks to team(s)
- Establish quality standards, provide daily oversight to ensure quality expectations are met
- Ensure work is completed accurately, following plans, specs and instructions from PM’s
- Oversee cost control to ensure labour and material budgets are on track
- Resolve disputes among personnel on site
- Provide training and mentorship to field employees
- Lead toolbox talks and ensure adherence to all mandatory safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, sub-trades and suppliers
- Other duties as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2+ years proven project success in the role of Foreman
- Red-seal Plumber experienced in large institutional new construction projects (a must)
- Clean driving record and criminal record check required
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Cost Control: experience working with and adhering to budgets
- Ability to work independently and to make decisions using sound judgement
